Assistant Service Manager / Shop Foreman / Service Department Dispatcher Essential Job Duties:



  • Dispatch work assignments to technicians and ensure that all allocated work is performed in accordance with established procedures and quality standards.

  • Communicates professionally and provides updates on customer repairs as needed to service advisors and the parts department

  • Maintain and update service records, including work orders, repair logs, and customer information, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

  • Collaborate with other departments or teams, such as parts procurement or customer service, to facilitate smooth workflow and customer satisfaction.

  • Follow the Hertrich Fix-It-Right-the-First-Time philosophy

  • Other duties as assigned by management


Assistant Service Manager / Service Department Dispatcher Qualifications:



  • Minimum of 4 years as a skilled service advisor, skilled as a service dispatcher, Dealership experience preferred

  • Comfortable with RO's, Dealership CSI requirements

  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team effectively.

  • Excellent technical knowledge and expertise in automotive, machinery, or relevant mechanical systems.

  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to finding solutions.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with team members, customers, and other stakeholders.

  • Valid driver's license with minimal/no points

  • High School Diploma / GED required
