During your initial employment, this hybrid position will combine both shop repairs and mobile service repairs but will grow to be solely an on-the-road position. Ford Mobile Service Technician / Auto Repair Tech / Mechanic Essential Job Duties:
Performs mobile test drives, inspections, and other diagnostic tests on vehicles
Identifies mechanical problems visually and/or with mobile diagnostic equipment
Completes preventative maintenance on vehicles, such as performing oil changes, tire rotation, and replacing brakes
Completes recalls per manufacturers technical instructions
Communicates professionally and provides updates on customer repairs as needed to service advisors and the parts department
Maintain a clean, safe and well-organized work area, whether in the shop or when providing mobile service
Follow the Hertrich Fix-It-Right-the-First-Time technician philosophy
Other duties as assigned by management
Ford Mobile Service Technician / Auto Repair Tech / Mechanic Qualifications:
Must be personable with proficient communication skills and professional appearance
Coach-ability, quality-driven and able to work a flexible schedule
Base Level Tech B/C with proven Ford ServiceTraining completed, ASE's highly desired
Basic Electrical knowledge, Scan Tool usage and knowledge of Ford Recall Fundamentals
Valid driver's license with minimal/no points
High School Diploma / GED required
Ford Mobile Service Technician / Auto Repair Tech / Mechanic Physical Capabilities:
Physical strength and flexibility to bend, squat, and lay on the ground
Easily and repetitively standing from a prone position
Diverse weather conditions
Physical strength to lift between 75 and 100 pounds.
